As the grass is coming into view with temperatures approaching 50 degrees the reality of a youth flag football league in our community is near. Chris Vitale, youth sport director, has created a real buzz amongst our middle school and high school boys. These boys will be learning a lot more than just about football. They will be learning about how God loves them and how they can have a relationship with Him. We have a huge opportunity right here in our community on our school property!
Youth programs start up again for the next 8 week session on March 17th. Despite the cold weather and snow we have had record attendance and our newly initiated Saturday Kidz Camp has received a really welcome from the community. Some teen middle school and high schoolers attended a weekend retreat at Camp Michawana called the Big Chill.
Over the past couple of months Gabrielle Hampton has joined us on staff. Gabby has a Bachelors Degree from Wayne State University. We added two additional part-time staff in key positions as well. Chris Vitale has taken on the responsibility for our youth sports program and Norma Foster has joined us in the position of Community Liason. We are excited that they have all decided to join us in this work.
