Our Response to Covid-19

We have an opportunity right now.  How we respond to this pandemic will provide thousands of people in our community a view of how followers of the Lord Jesus respond in a crisis.  Simply, we are reaching out, listening, and getting ourselves prepared to meet real expressed needs.

While we get prepared to meet physical needs, we are being proactive with our youth ministry by using video and text messaging to maintain contact with our youth and their families. We believe that our consistency right now is very important. To many in our neighborhood, we are their only faith community.  We must continue to be a beacon of hope and life as we have been for over 15 years. 

Having taken the first step by ministering to our youth, we realize that we need to get ready to meet monumental needs related to loss of jobs, reduced work hours, having to provide for childcare, and much more.  There are many here in Regent Park who do not have the resources to handle this level of disruption. For a large portion of the 10,000 residents here, this pandemic will likely devastate their day to day lives. We want to do everything we can to be there for those who need help. 

We were all very excited about our plans for 2020. These plans included staff additions, increased housing projects, expansion of our youth programs, new partnerships and so much more.  Now our priorities have shifted to keeping hope alive for our community, that they may see and experience the love of Christ. We need your help in that regard.
